The activities Indo Spanish Chamber of commerce develops are

Quarterly members meeting, to review activities execution and satisfaction, propose new developments and review financials

Business Breakfast and Evening Cocktail events, covering different topics/matters of concern to the business community when working in India, with the participation of third party experts, offering specific and individual advice for success
03.
Christmas lunch, members’ family dinners and living Spanish sports events, for bonding and networking
04.
Developing MoUs with Spanish and Indian company associations and industries federations, to be the reference player and main gate to the Spanish business community in India, and promoter of bilateral relations for Indian companies willing to do business in Spain
05.
Participation in different observatories and initiatives towards easing business in India, by presenting the issues of Spanish companies

Honorary President
José María Ridao joined the Diplomatic Service in 1987. He has Master’s degrees in Arabic Philology and in Law from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He has been posted in the Spanish Embassies in Angola, former Soviet Union and Equatorial Guinea, as well as at the Consulate General of Spain in Paris. He was Spain’s representative to the OECD Development Assistance Committee between 1993 and 1996 and in 2004 Spanish Ambassador to UNESCO. His last diplomatic assignment before being appointed to India was Consul General in Washington D.C.
Lucía Paternina Torme is the Chief Economic and Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of Spain in Delhi since September 2021. Prior to this, she was Financial Advisor in the Cabinet of the Secretary General of the Spanish Treasury. Lucía Paternina began her career in public service, having joined the Spanish Corp of State Economists in 2019. Prior to this, she worked as an investment bank analyst at JB Capital Markets. Lucía Paternina has a degree in Law and a degree in Business from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE).

Spanish National. Chief Representative of CaixaBank in India. CaixaBank is Spain’s leading bank in terms of assets, clients and market shares; and it is one of the leading banks in Europe. CaixaBank supports its business customers with interests in the region providing information on foreign trade and investment services or identifying new business opportunities.
Subrat Nath, civil engineer, is currently Managing Director of Talgo India Private Limited, working for Talgo (global leader in manufacturing high speed passenger trains) for the last 10 years. He has actively participated in infrastructure projects in three continents. Member of national rail committee in CII India, and member of EBG infrastructure sector.
Joiel Akilan was responsible for setting up BBVA, S.A. Representative Office in India in 2007. He is responsible for developing various banking businesses in the Indian sub-continent. He has set up the FII Business for BBVA as well as the MOU’s with banks in India for joint ventures and co-operation.
Spanish National. Ignacio Pastor is the Managing Director of TREI-TECHNICAL, technology specialist branch of Técnicas Reunidas engineering firm in India, acting as the authorized signatory of the permanent establishment of the group in India. Resident of Bengaluru since 2011. IE business school alumni.

Mission
The Indo-Spanish Chamber of Commerce is a private, non-profit organization where Spanish and Indian business firms exchange knowledge and experience on how best to confront the challenges of operating in India, and for Indian companies, in Spain. Working together, the Chamber helps its members to connect their business with other businesses and with opportunities. Endorsed by the Spanish Government and by the Economic and Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy in India, as part of the objectives and priorities of the “Internationalisation Strategy of the Spanish Economy, 2017-2027” initiative, the Chamber enhances economic ties between Spain and India.As an important milestone and token of all the above, Indo Spanish Chamber of Commerce has been recognised by the Spanish Government as the official Chamber of Commerce in India in August 2019.
