On 6th September 2024, members of the Indo-Spanish Chamber of Commerce (ISCC) took part in the “CII India Mediterranean Business Conclave,” organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India.

In his inaugural address, External Affairs Minister Mr. S. Jaishankar highlighted the historic trade ties between the Indian Ocean and Mediterranean regions, calling for strengthened connections between the Atlantic and Indo-Pacific. He also introduced the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), announced at the 2023 G20 summit, as a key framework for expanding trade across these regions.

Mr. Jaishankar emphasized the growing importance of collaboration in defense, security, and energy, with a particular focus on emerging sectors like green hydrogen and ammonia.
