On August 7, 2024, the Chamber of Spain (Cámara de España) and the Indo-Spanish Chamber of Commerce (ISCC) met with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in New Delhi to enhance economic development and bilateral trade between Spain and India. Key participants included Ms. Inmaculada Riera i Reñé, Director General of the Chamber of Spain; Mr. Oscar Esteban, President of ISCC; and Ms. Gayatri G. Prasad, Director of International Affairs at FICCI.
The meeting focused on creating proposals to guide government discussions, with efforts concentrated on four sectors: Defence, Infrastructure, Energy, and Automotive. The Defence Working Group, featuring companies like Indra and Airbus, will hold its first meeting on September 27, 2024. This collaboration highlights Spain’s strategic importance as a gateway for Indian companies expanding into Latin America. Following the success of the 2024 India-Spain Business Forum, the next forum is scheduled for early 2025.
